An absolutely stunning show with the ball from Mohammed Siraj consigned Kolkata Knight Riders to a huge defeat in the 2020 Indian Premier League.

Siraj’s sensational figures of 3-8 from his four overs was at the heart of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s eight-wicket win as Virat Kohli’s men climbed to second spot in the league table.

Siraj destroyed the KKR top order with three quick wickets and it was a blow that Dinesh Karthik and his men were unable to recover from. Windies all-rounder Andre Russell’s absence was dearly felt for Kolkata as Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar tightened the screws after Siraj’s early burst.

Despite a fighting knock from skipper Eoin Morgan, KKR were only able to post a paltry total of 84-8 from their 20 overs. RCB bowled an IPL record of four maidens in the Kolkata innings, with Siraj alone accounting for two of them.

Kolkata’s total of 84 is now the lowest IPL total posted by any side which has not been bowled out. There was no trouble for Bangalore in the run chase, with the side bringing up victory with more than six overs to spare.
