The teams at the bottom of the 2020 Indian Premier League table had a field day on Sunday as Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians bore the brunt of their force.

High-flying RCB were given a rude awakening in the first clash of the day in Dubai, with Chennai Super Kings finally showing some life in their campaign. MS Dhoni and his men ran out comfortable victors by eight wickets after they had restricted Bangalore to a total of 145-6.

Mitchell Santner applied the brakes on RCB in his first appearance of the season, with the Kiwi spinner conceding just 23 runs while bowling in the middle overs. RCB were unable to build any momentum in the death after Sam Curran picked up three timely and crucial wickets.

Just when CSK had managed to lift themselves out of the bottom spot, they were sent crashing down once again by a superb Rajasthan Royals win in the second clash of the day.

Mumbai Indians thought they had done enough after a late Hardik Pandya assault pulled them to a daunting total of 195-5. However, they were left stunned by a spectacular century from Ben Stokes, with the England star finding form for the first time in the campaign.

Stokes’ unbeaten 107 and a brisk half-century saw Rajasthan seal the win with eight wickets and nearly two overs to spare in the end.
