Delhi Capitals set up a Qualifier meeting with defending champions Mumbai Indians as Royal Challengers Bangalore were consigned to the  Eliminator clash in the 2020 Indian Premier League.

Both teams came into Monday’s clash on the back of poor runs, with a real possibility of either of them falling out of play-off contention. In the end, both sailed through to the last-four after Delhi registered a comprehensive six-wicket victory.

A fine bowling display from South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje had helped Delhi restrict RCB to 152-7, despite young opener Devdutt Padikkal registering yet another half-century.

Bangalore had started well with the bat, but lost their way in the second half of the innings on what was a slow surface in Abu Dhabi.

In reply, Delhi were always in control despite losing Prithvi Shaw early. Half-centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane paved the way for a comfortable win which was attained with one over to spare.

RCB will now face Kolkata Knight Riders or Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator clash at the same venue.
